Steep face climbing with a couple bulges to pass. The upper bulge has a bolt with a few chain links attached with a quick link to make it more easily clipable for the vertically challenged of us. Recall that bolt placement depends partly on rock quality. A fun and challenging route that definitely needs some thought.

Climbs the better looking vertical crack about 10-15 to the right of Buzzard Bait. Rock quality is better, but there is still some loose stuff. MUCH improved since the last bout of cleaning and the summer rains last year. At the top of the crack move right and locate the bolts protecting somewhat tricky climbing up the arete.

Nice trad route in good quality rock that takes a range of protection. Climb easy ground, placing horizontal protection to access the vertical crack that widens to the top. Some fun bulges and interesting moves lead to the top. Belay from the 2 bolt anchors on top of "Beak n Chains."

Vertical crack about 50 ft. to left of RR bolts. Small alcove, tricky start to vertical crack section. From the first main ledge head up into right leaning crack to top, past tree and easy climbing. Belay. Descend with single line rap from RR anchors.  

  The start is crux and the first section of vertical crack has a few hard moves. Easy ground gets you to the crux off width right leaning crack that will remind you of Sedona climbing.

Grungy looking wide crack that ended up being much cleaner than we expected. Definitely some loose rock still, even after climbing and cleaning, but it's much better than it looks (yes, it does look like a "what, me climb that?!" kind of route).

Easy climbing starting left of chimney through chunky rock to big ledge. Ascend right arête with bolt and short crack to second ledge. Broken vertical crack system to 2 bolt anchor. Getting up into the higher crack system will remind you of Sedona climbing -- awkward, but somehow it all comes together and is just a bit burly.

Short sport route on decent rock that will take you by surprise with its spiciness. Climb the low vertical face (nice pocket!) to ledge to shallow dihedral to crux small roof. Use directional for TR or to belay 2nd.

This is the arete/edge of the west facing wall and the north facing alcove area that hosts all the climbs to climber's left. It's a short little thing that has a few fun moves and some commitment because of the tricky pro. The hard 8/easy 9 move is to clear the small roof near the top. Climb broken crack through easy ground to a short face to overhanging crack to 2 bolt anchor.

Climb the same chimney as Magic Raptor Ride and continue up broken crack system to right of MRR to large ledge. Easy climbing to face with bolt protecting right arête to top. Tricky crux on arête that was totally unprotected on the ground up FA.

Easy climbing starting left of chimney through chunky rock to big ledge. Overhanging and committing finger to hand crack to second ledge with bolt on face below second crux through roof and steep face to 2 bolt anchor.

Climb chimney past small tree in gully and ascend right face with single bolt and broken small crack system to ledge. Finger to hands crack with tricky pro. Nice ledge before the crux top part. 3 bolts protect crux arête to 2 bolt anchor.

Bolted vertical face to massive roof, passing abandoned nest on ledge. Sustained and thin face climbing to ledge to roof.

Bullet hard rock, tricky thin pro and a few bolts -- this is a fun face climb! Will be committing to climb past the thin pro, but it's there and the delicate holds will be rewarding.

North side of Raptor Ridge, this is the namesake area that was what DAS was initially drawn to. A number of long trad lines ascend either side of the fully bolted visionary line, Raptor's Roost, that is still a project. These trad test pieces range from 5.9 to 5.12- and are exceptional examples of LD climbing. It's a shady area and is best saved for the warmer months. The west face routes get later afternoon sun and are shorter.
