Riverview Ridge

Climb the chimney from the Cove (East) side of the Sentinel. Escape right to the north face near top and avoid the block on the South tower of the sentinel.

A moderately laid back arete and face route.  Crux is early.

This route follows the large dihedral to the left of Monkey Swing. Starting at the base of the cave, climb the left face until a stem is possible. Continue to the cedar and on up the face to the top.

The key to this route is the small finger crack located just to the left of Underexposed. Start in Usderexposed crack and traverse left six feet until under the finger crack. Use a layback on a small knowb and poor footholds to reach the crack.

Climb the right side of Blank Wall (near First Crack) using good ledges and small pockets to get to a large bucket. Continue to the small roof and climb directly over on decent holds to the top.

Climb the face between Pretzel and Nosey. This intricate and technical climb features small face holds, a pinch hold in a pocket, a layback off the corner, an awkward undercling, and lots of interesting (hard) moves.

The crux is the namesake of this route.  A hard reach right to an undercling and slick foot smearing.

Crack and dihedral system to the right of Blank Wall.

Follow the thin crack right of Dimitri's Demise with face moves past an old pin and through a bulge. Take a rest at the big detached block and continue up and slightly left using thin cracks and pockets.

The easy laidback east face of Sentinel Tower.  Massive jugs and ladder-like climbing.  Crux is probably the top-out move.

Stand on a large block to readh the lip of the roof. Hand traverse right and swing a foot into the vertical crack. muscle up and layback into a seat on the small leadge just above the roof, and continue up and left through fragile flakes to a dihedral on the right edge of another roof.

Start on the face left of the Pretzel. Use tiny face holds to climb 15 feet to a horizontal crack. Continue up, staying left of Pretzel Face and six feet right of Third Crack.

Starting from the Southeast corner of the Quadrangle, traverse within 3 feet of the ground all the way to Third Crack.

Climb the wide crack and face on the left.

This has a face start to a dihedral crack to a medium chimney towards the top. the crux is about 15 feet up when moving from the face to the dihedral.

Sustained climb, starts same as Pretzel and angles left at the split in the crack (where Pretzel angles right).

First, escalate up the ladder of tree roots just left of the access to Forgotten Wall. Climbt he chimney and follow either of the 2 parallel vertical cracks leaving the chimney, avoiding the bush as much as possible. Angle slightly right, and continue to the top.

Little pockets are the trick on this one.  Big first move with smears up to mono and 2-finger pockets. Sustained for the first two thirds, then it mellows out a little.

Sustained 5.8 face climbing.  A fun route, definitely worth doing.

The largest crack on the river face of the Sentinel. Filled with mud and chockstones. The only reason to thrash up the 15 feet of this mess is to get to the fine hand crack in the solid rock above.

Two bulges after the midway point mark the crux - the second harder only because you'll be more pumped when you get to it.

Nose/arête around the corner from Double Overhang.  Follow the nose all the way up, but watch the spiders.  Crux is about a quarter of the way up, where handholds get marginal so you have to just hug the arête and high-step it.  The exposure and views are pretty amazing, and it's also a wonderful photo opportunity...
