To the right of the two big roof systems is a slightly, and continuously, overhanging wall properly called the Grid Wall with big block in the middle. Erection starts on the block and passes a small roof at 50 feet. Continuous, interesting climbing on pockets and edges. EE would probably get three stars in the Front Range, but even in AF its a good moderate on a crag with lots of things that are far from moderate.

A good lie-back system that was once the easiest route on The Billboard. But, it's fun, a bit tricky, and a bit run-out.

Right of the block is a vectorial line that crosses an overlap right off the ground, this is Death of a Sailsman. Continuous, slightly spooky climbing leads to the cruxy roof section just below the anchor. Hard to believe that Ruckman gave it only two stars. Continuous, tricky, vectorial climbing on great stone add up to a classic AF "a".

This is the left variation and is slightly harder than the one on the right.  Generally good climbing and some fun pockets.  The finish is a little sporty on small crimps and flakey rock.

This forgotten route has an interesting history.  Once an easier route named Operation Mindcrime, the bottom half of the route fell off in the Spring of 1991.  Apparently, car sized rocks tumbled all the way to the road leaving a huge path of destruction along the hill side.

When the dust settled, the bottom was rebolted, and renamed The Anarchist.  A scrappy, and varied route with some tough slab moves, cool limestone pockets, and a crux getting into a corner up high.

Begin with some powerful moves to a big pocket(might want to stick clip).  Then dance up a  tenuous slab with scant holds and feet to a nice set of pockets in a scoop.  Follow decent pockets left, then back right towards the corner.  A funky redpoint crux involving edges and palming gets you established in the corner where the difficulties ease up.    Cruise up the corner for another bolt, then veer left onto the face for a few pumpy moves up a small corner before reaching the anchors.

Could be a nice route with some more traffic.  For now, beware of loose rock and enjoy the adventure.

This route is second from the right of the true Gridwall routes, and one route left of "Beeline" (12a).  Starts with some cool pocket stabs and crossover moves on decent stone, then heads straight up the wall on standard AF choss, with less than standard Gridwall monotony.  The bolts are more spaced than most AF routes, so get psyched...and don't even look at the old, bent SMC hangers and the rust and corrosion surrounding each bolt head.

Rated 12c/d in the book, at most climbing areas this route would be 12b...but who really cares, its a good time and character building for American Fork.

Great line on the right side of the grid wall!  This is the second route from the right.

Starts in a shallow alcove with cranker moves right off the deck.  Climb the steep bulging wall on a series of perfect 2 and 3 finger pockets.  There are a couple of big reaches -cranker moves, but nothing ridiculous.

You will reach the anchors with a wicked pump and a smile!

The right line of two slabby 5.10s at the far right of the crag.  Probably wouldn't even qualify as a warm-up for most climbers frequenting the Billboard, but an ok diversion regardless.

Climbs through good pockets to an uncomfortably loose juggy flake 30 feet up, then traverses left to the anchors.  It's a bit of a run after the last bolt, with more than one way to do it.

Probably not worth hiking up to do this route if you can't get on the 11s and harder.

This is one of the routes up here that does not have fixed draws.  The start is very similar to that of Small Change, but as the route gets steeper to the top, the sequences are quite nice and make for a good warm up for this cliff.  The climbing is pretty chill most of the way and starts to increase in difficulty around the second to last bolt.  It stays pretty consistent from here to the end.   Nice climbing and is cleaning up well.

Climb a small battered tree to a good pocket, or skip the tree, climbing small holds to the same pocket (this makes the climb harder...12b/c) follow 5 bolts to a Y. take the right branch to the top.

This is a great, pocketed endurance climb, sporting a remarkable, hollow one finger pocket.

Longest route on the Gridwall.  Climb American Flyers to its 5th bolt then split left.  Above the 8th bolt, there's a committing bulge with a multitude of slopey edges. Picking the right ones to use could be the onsight crux.  After that you get two more bolts of delicate climbing on beautiful less-than-vertical rock.  A final mantel onto a slopey shelf puts you at the chains.

Start on a cool flake then climb big pockets up and left. Climb through a tough bulge to great layback crack !
